TRAINING AT ARMIDALE HIGH KICKS OFF
On May 1 2012, 13 extremely enthusiastic boys crawled out of bed extra early on a typically chilly Armidale morning. The reason for this unlikely behaviour was that these boys were going to attend the very first training session of the Armidale High Clontarf Academy.
The keenness of the boys was plain to see as they were all ready on time and hooked into the session.
Academy Operations Officer Bruce Dennison ran an energetic training which the boys thoroughly enjoyed, with heaps of interaction and laughter. After training we all demolished a beautiful hot breakfast, expertly cooked by Clontarf veteran Tony ‘T-Bone’ Delaney. It really was a fantastic way to kick off our morning training runs.
From this point on we will be training every week on a Tuesday and Thursday morning - rain, hail or snow. Those that know of Armidale’s climate would say that the snow part is probably more likely than we might want, but I reckon the Armidale boys would say ‘bring it on!’ Nothing is going to get in the way of these boys jumping on board with the Clontarf Program.
